Taylor (she/her)

Hello! Come on in.

I believe that meaningful work happens in the context of relationships, where you feel seen, heard, and safe enough to explore the parts of yourself that you’ve learned to keep hidden. Maybe past experiences still show up in your sexual or intimate life, leading to disconnection, confusion, or even physical or emotional pain. Together we'll make space to notice what's happening underneath, slow down, and explore how these experiences show up so you can feel more embodied and empowered in yourself, your sexuality, and your relationships.

My approach is relational and experiential, meaning the work we do together is grounded in the real-time dynamics between us and the felt experiences that arise in the moment. I pay close attention to how your body, emotions, and internal patterns show up during our time together, and we use those moments as gentle entry points for understanding what you’ve learned to protect. This allows us to explore not just your story, but your lived experience of it, creating space for deeper insight, while also helping you expand your internal capacity for growth, change and greater sense of connection with yourself and your relationships.

I hold this work with deep care. I’ve had the privilege of sitting with clients in some of their most vulnerable moments, and I approach those spaces with respect and compassion. I won’t push you through doors you’re not ready to open, but I will help you notice possibilities and walk alongside you as you decide what feels right. I hope to offer you the same sense of care, safety, and presence in our work together.

I’m a queer & poly therapist, and creating an affirming space is something I hold with intention, informed by my own experiences of not always feeling understood in therapy spaces and a commitment to honoring the many ways identity and relationships intersect. In virtual sessions, you may occasionally meet my cat, who sometimes wanders into view and offers a gentle reminder to pause and breathe.

I specialize in sex therapy with a focus on sexual and relational trauma and bring a strong foundation in supporting individuals and partners through the complex ways lived adversity impacts intimacy, pleasure, identity, and the connection to self and others.

about our work together

I’m here to support adolescents and adults of all gender identities, expressions and sexual orientations. My practice is dedicated to creating a welcoming space for people across the spectrum of identities and relationship structures. We might be a particularly good match if:

  • You’ve experienced childhood sexual abuse and are looking for a supportive space to reconnect with your body, sense of safety, and your relationship to sexuality.

  • You’ve survived sexual assault, exploitation or coercion and are navigating how these experiences are impacting trust, intimacy and your ability to feel safe in relationships.

  • You or your partner are struggling with pain or discomfort, a lack of desire, arousal difficulties, or feelings of shame around sex, and want to explore what may be influencing these experiences while also finding ways for sex to feel safer, more connected, and more pleasurable for all partners.

  • You and your partner(s) are working through the effects of trauma on your sexual connection and are looking for support in rebuilding intimacy, safety, and emotional closeness together.

  • You and your partner(s) are recovering from betrayal or infidelity and want support in understanding its impact, repairing emotional and physical intimacy, and reconnecting in ways that feel safe and attuned.

  • Sex therapy is a supportive and confidential space where you can talk openly about your concerns with a trained and licensed therapist. Just like other types of therapy, it’s conducted in a safe environment where you can feel comfortable. Your therapist has undergone the same training as any licensed therapist, with additional specialized training in sexual health, functioning, and anatomy to better address your specific concerns. The goal is to address your sexual concerns in a respectful and professional manner. Sex therapy never involves any inappropriate or personal contact.

  • Not at all. I also have experience working with a diverse range of clients navigating many different aspects of sexuality and relationships. I’m committed to supporting sexual wellness in all its forms, including:

    • Individuals/partners who are gender diverse and are seeking support around identity, relationships and sexuality.

    • Individuals/partners involved in kink communities who want a sex-positive, nonjudgmental space to explore their desires and relationships.

    • Individuals/partners in alternative or diverse relationship dynamics who want guidance around communication, boundaries and relationship structure.

  • Licenses

    • I’m a licensed psychotherapist (LMSW) in New York and work under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

    Education

    • I earned my MSW from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, with a concentration in behavioral health.

    • I’m currently completing the University of Michigan Sexual Health Certificate Program in Sex Therapy under the supervision of a certified sex therapist.

    Experience

    • I completed a two-year internship at the University of Maryland Medical Center, providing individual and group psychotherapy to adolescent survivors of sexual and community violence.

    • In a group practice setting, I supported adolescents and adults in individual and relationship psychotherapy, who have experienced complex trauma and co-occurring serious mental health challenges, including mood, personality, and schizophrenia spectrum disorders.

    Specialized Training

    • I have completed Level 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

    • I have completed training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

    Therapeutic Approaches

    • I draw from approaches such as Humanistic Therapy, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Attachment Theory and Emotionally Focused Therapy

  • I don’t work directly with insurance companies, but if your plan includes out-of-network benefits, you may be able to get reimbursed for part of your sessions.

Many insurance plans have out-of-network benefits that will typically reimburse between 50% to 80% of session costs after your deductible is met.

I’m happy to provide a superbill and we can work together to figure out your reimbursement options.

I also offer sliding scale rates to a percentage of my caseload. Feel free to reach out so we can discuss your options and what works best for you.

  • Our sessions will be kept confidential, with the exception of certain legal requirements. If there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if there are concerns about child or elder abuse, I am obligated by law to disclose this information.
